Sculling Programs
LSRC at Craftsbury Sculling Center
Wishing for warm breezes? Hankering to get in a rowing shell for the first time ever? Dreaming of skimming across the water, powerfully stroking your way to the finish line? Lake Sunapee Rowing Club is planning a group registration to the Craftsbury Sculling Center in Vermont for the weekend of June 3-5, 2011. If six or more rowers sign up, each rower will get a 10% discount on the cost of registration. Call your rowing buddies and make it a plan to get a jump on summer sculling skills. For more information, visit the Craftsbury Sculling Center website. Space is limited - so if you are interested, please let Brenda know as soon as possible. Sculling vs Sweep Rowing
When sculling, each rower has two oars - one in each hand. When sweep rowing, each rower has both hands on only one oar. Sculling shells can be singles (1-person), doubles (2-person) or quads (4-people). Sweep shells can be pairs (2-person), fours (4-person) or eights (8-person).
