Important Information about our Launch Sites
Georges Mills Beach
Both sweep rowing and sculling sessions for learn to row, recreational, and competitive programs launch from the public beach area at Georges Mills.
We are only permitted to park in the following two places:
Santos property – 6 Holmes Lane (former pediatrician’s office, currently vacant) 19 parking spaces
Fletcher property* – 1040 Main Street (parking lot & retail building) 4+ parking spaces
*Note that this area is not available during their tent sale
We will be ‘wet launching’ off the point of land on the north end of the town beach. We will not interfere with or cross over the swim lines. Rowers will carry boats from the storage area to the launch site.
Low Noise Level Required
Please be considerate of the neighbors when parking cars, walking to the launch site and while rowing in Georges Mills Harbor. Our application to the Town of Sunapee includes a promise to limit the noise level to as low as possible as there are houses surrounding the launch site. Please limit conversation both at the launch site and on the water to very low levels. Once we get past the “No Wake” zone, there is a large section of the lake that is undeveloped conservation land, and will be where most of the coaching will take place. We need to do our best to be good neighbors, as we would like to be asked back next year!
Sunapee State Park Beach
Our adaptive program launches from the southern end (to the right as you enter the Park) of Sunapee State Park Beach
